JOB PURPOSE

The Recreation Therapist - Addictions and Mental Health is responsible for providing clinical recreation therapy.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor degree in Recreation with major course work in mental health or the social sciences. Must have two years of experience working in the mental health field.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Recreation Therapist – Addictions and Mental Health is responsible for:

• Assessing, planning, and providing recreational therapy to individuals and groups
• Participating in interdisciplinary care planning
• Maintaining clinical records and documentation
• Monitoring and responding to high risk mental health activities
• Providing guidance and support to activity workers and other health care providers
• Participating in developing and sharing information related to clinical skill sets, best practices and clinical guidelines
• Ordering, maintaining and ensuring and inventory of equipment and supplies
