As part of the IT Services System Operator team, the IT Specialist will assist in providing support related to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) reliability standards by contributing to our CIP programs, completing time sensitive tasks, participating in NERC CIP audits as well as other related duties. Our successful candidate will be attentive to detail, analytical, able to write documentation, and be adept at mitigating vulnerabilities.
Key functions include:
• Prepare for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) audits and document the CIP programs.
• Responsible for process improvement through the creation of internal controls and KPI's.
• Participate in the evaluation of new CIP standards and the modification of existing programs to ensure ongoing compliance and operational security, as well as completing any CIP related, time sensitive tasks.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Bachelor of Computer Science OR Diploma in Systems Administration, Network Administration, or Cybersecurity with two years of related experience
• Two years of related experience
• Broad knowledge of networking, system administration, and cyber security
• Experience writing technical documentation and/or documenting processes and procedures
• Ability to solve complex situations/problems in a compliant manner
• Experience with NERC CIP standards would be considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
