Demands, duties, qualifications
Reporting to the Regional Manager of Child and Youth Community Health, Rehabilitation and Intervention Services, the primary purpose of this position is to provide Speech and Language Services to clients and families receiving serviced by the Labrador Health Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and surrounding areas.
Qualifications :
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized University;
- Must be eligible for certification with the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists;
- Strong interpersonal and organization skills and current knowledge of professional practice issues and standards are essential;
- This position is required to have own personal vehicle for work purpose therefore is required to have a valid driver's license
Duties and Responsibilities : (Include but not limited to):
- Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills in the area of clinical specialty to assess and treat clients, and acts as a resource to other Speech Language Pathologists within and outside the organization;
- Participates in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures and in the formulation of the service budget and expenditures;
- Provides consultation to other health professionals and community agencies;
- Participates in facility developmental activities and committees related to the area of specialty;
- Participates in the development of quality initiatives program.
