Department: Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI)
Placement Description: DTI is seeking an engineering student to support the initiative and safety manager with specifications, safety, and training. The successful candidate will support the development of safe work practices, review safety guidelines, and help with safety tracking. The student will also write and manage specifications, review technical manuals, and promote organization in our office. Responsibilities also include supporting any other projects that will be assign to the quality initiatives and safety group for Construction Branch. Through the summer, the student will also compile data and complete some analyses, while also assisting the Assistant Directors and Directors with new strategic initiatives.
This role offers an opportunity for skills development with career-focused trainings, self-development workshops, and personalized mentorship.
Qualifications:
- Language requirement: English or Bilingual
- Engineering student
- Understanding of specifications and plans
Skills/Highlights: Experience in highway construction is a strong asset, along with skills in writing, effective communication, and organization.
