Placement Description: An Employment Counsellor helps individuals secure permanent jobs by creating personalized employment action plans based on their skills and interests. They support career decision-making by assessing skills, identifying job opportunities, and setting career goals. Counsellors assist with work preparation through education upgrading, training, and gaining work experience. They also provide job search support, including resume writing, interview preparation, and access to job listings and labour market information.
This role offers an opportunity for skills development with career-focused training, self-development workshops, and personalized mentorship.
Qualifications:

• Language requirement: (1) French and (1) Bilingual
• Post-secondary student in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Family Studies, Criminology, Social Work or Social Sciences

Skills/Highlights: This role requires strong planning and organizing skills, effective interactive communication, and the ability to provide client-focused counselling services. Success in this position relies on teamwork and cooperation, along with a client service orientation that ensures individuals receive the support they need.
