Construction Site Representative (One-Year Term Contract)
We are excited to offer a one-year term contract opportunity for a Construction Site Representative to join our Municipal team in Nova Scotia!
The Construction Site Representative will oversee daily progress at a construction site located in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. The construction project will consist of shoreline protection, extension of water and sewer services, new stormwater systems, and road reconstruction. The ideal candidate will be proactive, have a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and efficiency throughout the duration of the contract.
Candidates must be available to start work by March 17, 2025.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Complete field measurements and track quantities, as well as document daily progress and work activities;
- Complete surveys using RTK survey equipment;
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications and ensure conformance during construction;
- Monitor and ensure general safety protocols are being followed to ensure a safe working environment;
- Liase with project managers, Contractor, Owner, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration; and
- Address any concerns or issues raised by clients, stakeholders, or team members promptly and professionally.
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
- 5 years of experience conducting field services (experience working for an engineering consulting firm would be considered a strong asset);
- Available to start work by March 17, 2025;
- Diploma in engineering technology (civil) considered an asset;
- Ability to work in a team environment to ensure project success;
- Willingness to carry out on-site representation duties for extended periods of time;
- Working ability with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Ability to effectively communicate; and
- Hold a valid driver's license with the ability to travel to the job site.
