(WMB), a specialized transporter of feed and commodities throughout Atlantic Canada and Quebec. Established in 1993 with a single truck, WMB has grown steadily and now operates a fleet of 30 trucks. Based in Truro, NS, we are seeking a Controller to join their growing team in Truro, NS.

As the Controller, you will ensure the business stays on the right financial track, growing sustainably year after year by managing budgets, tracking expenses, and preparing financial reports. Working within an entrepreneurial culture that values team contribution and collaboration, the ideal candidate will be experienced in their practical accounting and finance capabilities and have a strong work ethic and can-do attitude to get the work done and increase the scope of their role.

Responsibilities will include:

• Manage financial records, transactions, and reporting for the operations.
• Implement efficient accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Perform financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and support informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop budgetary plans and financial forecasts.
• Provide strategic financial recommendations to optimize operations and drive growth.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• CPA designation preferred.
• Post secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• Demonstrated accounting experience with strong technical aptitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proactive and can-do attitude; enjoys being creative and resourceful to find solutions.
