Title : Geomatics Intern

In this role, you will :
- Participate in the geolocation and mapping of key resources and data.
- Participate in the development of geomatics processes and tools.
- Offer advice and propose best practices for the use of databases, software and web applications used by the organization within an information management perspective during emergency operations.
- Draft different types of documents (checklists, procedures) to supervise work and maintain geomatics tools.
- Participate in the development of maps, including socio-demographic data and the identification of resources within the territory.
- Link databases to geomatics maps.
What we are looking for :
- Enrollment in a geomatics program.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS online.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).
- Good knowledge of geomatics applied to emergency preparedness would be considered an asset.
- Be autonomous and have initiative.
- French/English bilingualism would be considered an asset.
- An understanding of the Canadian Red Cross's role in emergency response, relief, and recovery would be considered an asset.
Working Conditions :
- This position requires a satisfactory vulnerable sector check.
- The internship must be creditable.
