Department: Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL)
Placement Description: The student will be responsible for assessing client needs to better guide them in their career choices. They will provide personalized support to help clients find employment, access training suited to their professional goals, and ensure job retention. Additionally, this person will contribute to the work of the Workforce Consultants team by providing support in various tasks related to client assistance. The selected candidate will also participate in team meetings, lead presentations and workshops for clients, and contribute to the development of tools aimed at improving various aspects of professional support. This experience represents an excellent opportunity for someone looking to acquire skills in career counseling, communication, and human resources development.

Qualifications:

• Language requirement: French (required) and English (functional)
• Enrolled in a program in sociology, psychology, education, criminology, or social work
• Experience in counseling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Skills/Highlights: Demonstrate a strong customer service orientation and effective interactive communication to support clients well. Teamwork and collaboration will be essential, as well as confidence and self-control to intervene with assurance and professionalism. Good planning and organizational skills will facilitate task management, and knowledge of counseling techniques will be an asset to better guide clients in their journey.
