Location: In Office, 260 Richmond St West, Toronto, Ontario
Job Status: Regular, Full Time – Union (Unifor 723 – M)
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Newstalk 1010 is Toronto's #1 news talk station. It's where Torontonians connect to get the latest on what's happening in their world. It's where the leaders of every level of government know they have to visit to get their messages across to the voters and also be held accountable for their decisions. Working in collaboration with the Program Director of NewsTalk1010, we are looking for a news minded, highly motivated individual who understands what makes great content and, most importantly, what matters to Toronto.

• In collaboration with the show host(s), create an editorial vision for each segment of each show
• Identify the stories that matter most to Toronto and find a way to advance the story and/or approach it with a unique perspective
• Booking the best guests who can inform and entertain the audience
• Establishing relationships with media contacts related to the program (political, entertainment, etc.)
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of news and social issues that relate to our audience
• Ensure all show content is available on all available audio platforms.
• Establish working relationships with key people within CTV News, CP24 and other Bell Media platforms, to create as many content synergies as possible.

• Post secondary degree/diploma from a recognized Broadcast Program or equivalent experience
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Must be organized and able to handle multiple assignments
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
• Digital and social media proficiency
• Experience as a board operator for live radio/podcasts.
• Excellent audio editing and production skill
• Previous experience with WideOrbit Automation. Burli, Adobe Audition and Lawo Consoles is an asset
• Ability to work in a fast paced, customer focused environment
