Construction Safety Nova Scotia (CSNS) is looking for an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Advisor who can directly impact safety in the construction sector. This role is more than just checking safety boxes. You will help construction employers and workers create physically and psychologically safe workplaces - ultimately reducing injuries/illness, preventing fatalities, and ensuring Nova Scotia businesses and communities thrive in a safety-first culture.

  • Do you have what's needed to be an industry leader in safety?
  • Post secondary education in occupational health and safety or other related field or experience.
  • Must have or be willing to pursue a recognized professional OH&S designation acceptable to Construction Safety Nova Scotia; CRSP is preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise in Occupational Health Safety Legislation and Regulations as well as understanding of WCB, CSA standards applicable to the construction industry and experience in a safety related industry or environment.
  • Experience with Fall Protection and Confined Space preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in an adult training or learning role would be an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on PowerPoint.
  • Provincial travel requires a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
