Job Title: Housing Project Facilitator, 2-year Contract
Location of Position: Corner Brook, NL
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $55,250.00/per annum.
Job Description: The Housing Project Coordinator will be responsible for developing and administering housing-related programs identified by the Qalipu First Nation housing division in accordance with the Qalipu five-year Strategic Housing Plan. The Housing Project Coordinator will use best practice and evidence-based procedures, program development, research and analysis, and other relevant resources supporting Qalipu First Nation's housing initiatives. The Housing Project Coordinator will provide core operational support in delivering Qalipu's housing program(s) and support band members in accessing other community-based housing programs(s). The Housing Project Coordinator will ensure the success of housing program(s) and that project deliverables are met according to the funder's requirements.
The Housing Project Coordinator will provide and coordinate administrative support, statistical analysis, report writing, and funding proposal writing. The Officer will also foster, develop, and provide community engagement and partnership development and comply with established organizational policies and procedures.
Additionally, The Housing Project Coordinator will support oversight of the day-to-day activities of additional hired housing staff to complete the obligations of the identified program funding contribution agreement(s). The Housing Project Coordinator will report directly to the Housing Manager.
Responsibilities:
Manage contribution agreement(s) between funding agencies and Qalipu First Nation related to housing programming and support for Qalipu First Nation members
Engaging in and coordinating community engagement sessions with external and local organizations
Manage project budgets and related reporting
Purchasing equipment, supplies, and materials
Actively work to connect with community members to distribute program information and receive feedback on housing programs
Prepare funding proposals and applications as required
Strengthen and build partnerships with other government departments, provinces, and private sectors
Actively work with internal and external partners to secure the resources needed to advance housing initiatives
9. Provide appropriate support to band members in accessing other community-based housing programs
10. Provide strategic advice on issues affecting the program(s)
11. Collect and maintain statistics and documentation for evaluation and reporting purposes.
Actively support the preparation of quarterly, annual, and scheduled reports to management, council, and funding partners as required
Support effective communication between Qalipu Departments, Qalipu programs, and services.
14. Responsible for ensuring that files are stored and maintained as per the Qalipu Electronic Records Management System and Quality Management Protocols, including compliance and performance management
15. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of projects-based budgets, including expenses and receivables, and core housing programs
16. Abide by existing Qalipu policies, procedures, and privacy acts.
17. Assist with the development of additional housing policies and procedures.
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Education: Completion of a degree or diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Community Studies, or Commerce. Experience in working with the Indigenous population and navigating interdepartmental/government systems would be preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of previous experience is preferred.
Working Conditions: This position is office based. The duties are predominantly met during regular business hours. Some overtime work and travel will be required at specific times throughout the year.
Full-time Employee Benefits:
Annual Leave: FT employees - Three weeks per year.
Statutory and Non-Statutory Holidays: Employees are entitled to 13 days off to cover Statutory and Non-statutory holidays per year.
Summer Office Hours: Office hours during the summer months are from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The schedule starts the first long weekend in May and continues until the last week of September.
Christmas Break: the office closes down during the Christmas break; this is an added bonus that employees are entitled to.
FT Sick and Family Medical: Full Time Employees are entitled to 12 paid sick/family medical days per year.
Under 2 hours Medical Appointment: Employees may attend an appointment of less than 2 hours with no deductions to Sick and Family Medical.
Discretionary Bereavement: One day off per year for the death of a relative not included as immediate family, a close friend or neighbor.
Volunteer Program: Employees may volunteer outside of the organization up to 21 hours per year.
