ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF SPECIALIST III (BAND LEVEL 8)
Division of Population Health and Applied Health Sciences
Faculty of Medicine
(Full-time, Contractual Position to March 9, 2027)

DUTIES
The successful applicant will perform professional work in providing administrative direction and operational management to the Division of Population Health and Applied Health Sciences. Duties include planning, coordinating and supervising administrative activities for the Division; developing budget requests; monitoring and maintaining records of budget accounts, monitoring grant and contract accounts, and overseeing purchasing; coordinating the hiring process for faculty; processing of promotion and tenure packages and renewal of faculty appointments; special activities/programs; preparing fiscal, statistical and project reports; assisting faculty members in budget development; overseeing human resources activities within the Division, including staff selection; supporting the Associate Dean in effecting change within the Division; developing, recommending and implementing new systems, policies and procedures; maintaining considerable contact with officials within the Faculty of Medicine and the university regarding administrative activities; supervising staff; advising on a variety of management issues and recommending appropriate courses of action; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in responsible administrative work, preferably in an academic institution; graduation with a degree from a four-year college or university program with major course work in business, public administration or organizational management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Strong skills in human resources, supervisory management, change management, problem solving, and analytical thinking are required. Experience with Banner Student, Banner Finance, Banner HR, the administration of Collective Agreements (CUPE/MUNFA/LUMUN/TAUMUN), Microsoft Office software and familiarity with Memorial University's policies and procedures are assets.

SALARY $63,099 - $86,042 per annum (Management and Professional)
