Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Engineering Technologist II - Asset Management. These two opportunities are regular opportunities in the Engineering and Capital Infrastructure Department and have full time hours.
What the Asset Management Team does:
- Delivers asset management, and infrastructure master planning projects.
- Leads investigations to confirm levels of service, fill data gaps, and determine asset condition.
- Administers key data collection programs that inform work done by other departments
- Coordinates annual capital budget development.
- Provides regular reporting on Halifax Water's assets (state of good repair and planning for our future services).
- Supports Halifax Water's response to customers' service expectations and growth demands.
As an Asset Management Engineering Technologist, you will:
- Act as a core member of the Asset Management Team.
- Perform technical duties relating to program development, data collection and management, performance analysis, capital prioritizations, condition assessment, and asset data management for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
To do this job, you need:
- A technical diploma in Engineering Sciences (or related field) with an emphasis on underground infrastructure management and municipal servicing (water, wastewater, stormwater).
- To be eligible for membership in TechNova as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
- Five years of experience in infrastructure management or municipal servicing with an asset management focus, including significant responsibility for data management using database systems, and/or data analysis and interpretation using statistical or mathematical techniques.
- A valid NS driver's license.
