Demands, duties, qualifications
NLHS Western Zone is seeking the services of a salaried Family Physician to provide primary care services at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, in Port Saunders, Newfoundland and Labrador. Duties include provision of outpatient and inpatient services along with provision of after-hours/weekend on call on a regular rotation.

The successful applicant will provide clinic coverage at the RGHC, ER coverage,or Outreach Clinic coverage from Monday to Fridaydivided equally between thesalaried Family Physicians locatedat this site. After hours/weekend/stat holiday on-call assignment on an equitable basis with the Family Physicians serving the Community.

The regional referral centre for Western Zone is Western Memorial Regional Hospital, a 164-bed facility that provides services to a population base of approximately 80,000 people. We are affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador Faculty of Medicine, and we encourage and support academic interests.

Qualifications Required: Eligible for licensure as a Family Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL), has current ACLS certification and satisfy credentialing requirements of Western Health's Discipline of Family Practice. Experience working in an Emergency Room will be an asset.

Language of Work: English

Hours of Work: 80 hours biweekly plus on-call obligations

Remuneration: The salary scale for a Family Physician employed at Category B facilities ranges from $163,812 to $177,333 as outlined in the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The Department of Health and Community Servicesin accordance with Provincial Guidelines will officially determine a Physician'sstep assignment with yearly progression thereafter. Additional income is generated through billings for Category B Emergency Room coverage.
