The opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Temenos core banking solutions. This role requires a strong technical background, hands-on expertise in Temenos system architecture, and a strategic mindset to drive operational efficiency, system integration, and platform scalability.

As a technical leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including IT, business stakeholders, and vendors—to deliver innovative solutions that enhance platform functionality, user experience, and business performance. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the stability, security, and continuous improvement of our core banking platforms.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of Temenos core banking solutions, including setting non-functional requirements, technical configurations, and system integrations.
  • Monitor and enhance system performance, scalability, and security, leveraging data-driven insights to drive continuous improvements.
  • Provide proactive production support, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure minimal downtime for core banking operations.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams and vendors to enable seamless platform integration with payment systems, card management, clearing, and tax reporting.
  • Partner with external technology providers to ensure timely and high-quality solution delivery, while aligning platform enhancements with business objectives.
  • Ensure platforms adhere to regulatory standards, security protocols, and industry best practices within the Canadian banking and payments ecosystem.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guidelines, and deployment processes.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in Temenos technical roles, specifically within banking system implementations or upgrades.
  • Proficiency in Temenos L3 coding (Infobasic) and experience with build and deployment processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Temenos product portfolio, including AA products and CAMB modules.
  • Expertise in multi-server environments, JBoss application/web server management, and platform troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with Temenos IRIS Framework, including API development, deployment, and integration.
  • Deep understanding of event-driven architecture and data streaming within the Temenos Integration Framework (IF).
  • Strong grasp of Temenos Platform Framework (TAFC setup, log analysis, and debugging methodologies).
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Bitbucket) and CI/CD deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of COB (Close of Business) support and service management.
  • Understanding of relational databases (MSSQL) and cloud-based SaaS models (Temenos on Azure).

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience working in credit union environments.
  • Familiarity with Temenos TAFJ runtime and Temenos R13 release.
  • Knowledge of scripting tools, logging, and monitoring platforms (Splunk).
  • Exposure to Agile delivery models and cross-functional team collaboration.
