TD Securities Corporate and Investment Banking provides a full range of financial advisory and capital-raising services to corporate and institutional clients globally. Our Relationship Managers work closely with our clients to understand their needs and bring them unique solutions to complex issues. The department is organized into areas of expertise by product, region, and industry.

The Business Management Team within Corporate & Investment Banking is responsible for providing ongoing strategic and operational support, as well as supervisory oversight, to front-line Investment Bankers and Senior Executives within the department, such that their focus can remain on providing optimal client coverage and execution. The team liaises with various TDS and TDBG support partners to advance the needs of the department as well as assist with rolling out any firm- or bank-wide initiatives.

Position Overview:

Corporate & Investment Banking is a demanding environment and requires a self-starting, efficient person who works extremely well in a team, can manage multiple priorities at the same time, and thrives in a fast-paced, intense and exciting environment.

In this role you will be a member of the Business Management team within Corporate & Investment Banking. You will report to the MD and Business Manager, Global Investment Banking and will work in close partnership with various investment banking coverage teams to both manage their operational activities and support the advancement of their business strategies. You will also partner closely with the broader business manager group to execute on TDS and TDBG deliverables and initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

More specifically, the role will require you to work to:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to assigned coverage groups, assisting in the development and implementation of the group's business strategies and plans
  • Resolve issues and eliminate obstacles for deal teams by leveraging relationships with the broader business management team and other internal partners in technology, compliance, legal, HR, and Finance, and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Enhance business development by collaborating with TDS Marketing team for conferences and client events and manage group specific charity and sponsorship initiatives
  • Drive forward business priorities including client targeting and coverage plans and leverage internal CRM systems to support deal pipeline management
  • Understand and manage key financial performance metrics for the team including but not limited to revenue forecasts, expense management and overall efficiency ratios
  • Support the CIB Business Supervision COE to ensure enforcement and adherence of business policies and processes
  • Work with the CIB Colleague COE to identify & fill team-specific resourcing and training needs
  • Think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to complex problems.
  • Influence & negotiate to support Group Heads in achieving their business objectives

Specific Accreditations and Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in capital markets, business operations or a related field
  • Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field

  • Understanding of financial markets and the business of Corporate and Investment banking
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
