TD's Sustainability strategy includes initiatives focused on greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable finance, climate issues and solutions in carbon intensive sectors, and developing a TD perspective on the transition to the low carbon economy. This is a high priority area for the Bank, with engagement from senior executives across the enterprise.
Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Manager will support scope 3 financed emissions calculation routine for all of TD's retail and non-retail portfolios. The Manager will play an integral role in TD's efforts to prepare disclosures for upcoming regulatory requirements, such as OSFI's Climate Risk Return and OSFI B-15. The Manager will work with the Sustainability Reporting team, Enterprise Data & Analytics, and other key business partners within the bank to establish a monitoring and reporting process for scope 3 financed emissions metrics.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
1. Scope 3 Financed Emissions Methodology
I. Monitor and evaluate the impact of existing and emerging sustainability regulations, standards, and best practices on the current internal calculation methodology
II. Provide guidance to data scientists in building/updating internal calculation models to align with new regulations/methodologies
III. Participate in various external forums related to scope 3 financed emissions methodology and disclosure
2. Scope 3 Financed Emissions Reporting & Controls
I. Support the quarterly data collection, validation, analysis, and internal and external reporting of the bank's scope 3 financed emissions
II. Identify trends, and insights in scope 3 financed emissions metrics to provide actionable business intelligence
III. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance reporting practices to meet growing stakeholder needs
IV. Coordinate with external assurance partners on annual assurance activities
V. Operationalize strong governance and controls around current emissions calculation routines
VI. Prepare presentations, briefings and summaries for executive audience
3. Data Strategy
I. Review various new data sources to fill the gaps in current processes and enhance the data quality score
II. Liaise with current and potential external vendors for scope 3 financed emissions data requirements
Internal
III. Understand potential data vendor's methodology to assess if it is aligned to TD's standards and meet industry/regulatory requirements
4. Relationship Management
I. Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal partners such as Finance, Risk, Enterprise Data & Analytics, TD Securities, etc. on scope 3 financed emissions
II. Serve as a primary point of contact for certain key external climate data vendors
Job Requirements:
University degree with minimum 7+ years of relevant professional experience within Finance, Business or Sustainability.

• Strategic thinking and negotiation skills to align relationships with organizational goals

Nice-to-have:
• Ability to collect, organize, analyze complex data using advanced analytics (e.g., excel, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.)
• Understanding of TD's lines of business (e.g., TDS, RESL, TDAF, CBB, etc.)
• Knowledge or familiarity with PCAF, NZBA, ISSB, OSFI B-15
• Project management experience
• Awareness of fundamental data governance and data management practices
