Role Description

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering transportation solutions. As Lead and Project Manager, you will oversee a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Beyond managing technical work, this role offers the chance to mentor and support staff, fostering growth and strengthening the team. Collaboration is key, as the successful candidate will work closely with clients and stakeholders to develop practical, forward-thinking transportation solutions that improve communities.

Duties:

  • Design and oversee highway and civil infrastructure projects, ensuring strict adherence to codes and standards.
  • Providing project engineering and technical expertise, modeling, analysis and design services on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Managing of Transportation Engineering projects including financial controls, project management, and managing client relationships.
  • Participating in studies, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, tendering and contract administration.
  • Preparation of conceptual, preliminary, and final designs
  • Preparing proposals and reports
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, and contractors.
  • Providing senior review and professional authentication of memos, reports, drawings, and other engineering documents.
  • Leading and participating in Business Development initiatives.
  • Planning projects, developing accurate scopes of work, cost estimates, project plans, schedules, and deliverables to execute high quality projects on time and on budget.
  • Working closely with engineers, designers, drafting and support staff.
  • Mentoring and coaching engineers, technologists, and designers, fostering their professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in civil engineering, specializing in the design of highways, roads, and related infrastructure.
  • Ability to be registered or currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; a master's degree is an asset.
  • Experience in the design of highways, roads, and other transportation related infrastructure.
  • Proven project management and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D, NBDTI, NSTIR, or TAC geometric design standards.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
