Fundy Trail Provincial Park is one of New Brunswick's crown jewels. Spanning 2,559 hectares along the southern coast, the park features a stunning 30 km parkway with breathtaking views of the world-renowned Bay of Fundy. Open seasonally from mid-May to mid-October, it offers visitors an unforgettable chance to connect with nature and history.

Fundy Trail Provincial Park is seeking an Artisan III to lead and elevate our interpretive programming, manage our team of Park Interpreters, and coordinate the operations of our Interpretive Centers. Join us in crafting unforgettable visitor experiences at one of New Brunswick's most iconic destinations!

What you will do

Reporting to the Assistant Park Manager, as an Artisan III, the successful candidate will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional visitor experiences by overseeing interpretive programs, supervising interpretive staff, and managing operations within the park's Interpretive Centers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Supervising, mentoring and providing training for Artisan II interpreters, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team
  • Developing and managing work schedules, ensuring coverage across key park locations, guided walks, and programs
  • Coordinating with other park staff to enhance guest experiences and reconcile schedules for payroll accuracy
    • Supporting the creation and delivery of engaging interpretive programs, including guided tours, interactive presentations, and exhibits
    • Ensuring interpretive materials are accurate, high-quality, and aligned with park goals
    • Monitoring program effectiveness, managing inventory for activities, and implementing improvements as needed
    • Overseeing the daily operations of interpretive services, ensuring exceptional guest experiences both in-person and online
    • Addressing visitor inquiries, resolving concerns, and maintaining a welcoming and professional environment
    • Acting as a point of escalation for guest-related challenges and enforce park rules as necessary
    • Working with park management, staff, and external partners to coordinate special events, group tours, and outreach presentations for schools and community groups
    • Providing step-on guide services for groups, motorcoach tours, and travel writers as needed
    • Promoting and enforcing health and safety protocols during interpretive activities
    • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment across all locations, including during outdoor programs in varied weather conditions
    • Recording and tracking visitor statistics, program participation, and staff performance data
    • Managing timesheets, preparing end-of-season reports, and handle other administrative functions as required
    • Active involvement in park committees such as the Joint Health and Safety Committee, contributing to the park's ongoing improvement

  • Office Location: 229 Main Street St. Martins; Fundy Trail Provincial Park Administrative Building

Big Salmon River Interpretive Centre (Fundy Trail Provincial Park)

  • Please note that this position requires variable and extended hours - shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays, both indoors in an office setting as well as outdoors
  • Uniform provided

You are someone who has concern for order but can also be flexible. You have great communication skills as well as great leadership skills. You have experience working with the public.

Need to have

  • Completion of high school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 3 years of related work experience, including 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Some positions require spoken competence in English and French. Other positions require spoken competence in either English or in French only. Please state your language capability.

  • Customer service experience
  • Interest in or appreciation of earth sciences, history, or ecology

Wage

$24.29 per hour
