Fundy Trail Provincial Park is one of New Brunswick's crown jewels. Spanning 2,559 hectares along the southern coast, the park features a stunning 30 km parkway with breathtaking views of the world-renowned Bay of Fundy. Open seasonally from mid-May to mid-October, it offers visitors an unforgettable chance to connect with nature and history.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Visitor Experience Team as an Artisan II. This role is instrumental in creating meaningful and educational connections with park visitors through engaging programs, presentations, and hands-on experiences.
What you will do
Reporting to the Interpretive Supervisor, as an Artisan II, the successful candidate will be responsible for enriching the guest experience by providing high-quality interpretive services and fostering an appreciation for the natural and cultural significance of Fundy Trail Provincial Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Providing engaging and relevant interpretation through exhibits, guided tours, and interactive and creative presentations while ensuring guest safety
- Interacting with visitors, answer questions, and facilitate informal learning opportunities
- Researching, developing, and improving of interpretive materials such as booklets, programs, and presentations
- Preparing end-of-season reports and maintaining accurate daily logbooks
- Assisting with park programming and experiences, coordinating activities, and collaborating with staff and volunteers
- Conducting outreach presentations for schools and community groups
- Advising visitors of park rules and regulations and escalating any issues to the necessary authorities
- Handling outdoor responsibilities and maintaining a clean, litter-free environment
- Ensuring workspaces, including washrooms, are tidy and well-maintained
- Contributing to the park's ongoing improvement with active involvement in park committees, such as the Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Supporting other park programming and completing additional tasks as required

Big Salmon River Interpretive Centre (Fundy Trail Provincial Park)
- Please note that this position requires variable and extended hours - shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays, both indoors in an office setting as well as outdoors

Need to have
- Completion of Grade 10
- Knowledge of or ability to demonstrate period and obsolete craft practices, tools, methods, and materials
- At least 1 year of related work experience
- Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
- Some positions require spoken competence in English and French. Other positions require spoken competence in either English or in French only. Please state your language capability.

Wage
$22.72 per hour
