Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist's responsibilities will include but are not limited to: airway management, mechanical ventilation, arrest and trauma response teams, patient transport, and pulmonary diagnostics for Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal populations. The successful applicant will be required to become a member of the Neonatal Transport Team where applicable.
This position reports to the Division Manager of MSICU/ Provincial Organ Donation Program and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Respiratory Therapy for professional integrity and practice issues.
Successful applicants in the Float Pool will provide relief coverage for a minimum of 2 sites /programs and will rotate between sites /programs i ntermittently.

Constantly uses fine finger/precision, auditory, sensory, and visual concentration to provide clinical interventions, assess/monitor patients, to complete documentation, etc.
May be subject to time pressures/deadlines and subject to lack of control over work pace.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited academic program in Respiratory Therapy is required.
Proof of current registration from the NL Council of Health Professionals is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
*The successful applicant must be willing to complete at the first available opportunity Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) in-house as determined by the employer.
The successful applicant must complete in-house neonatal transport training at the first available opportunity in order to become a member of the Neonatal Transport Team. This is not a requirement for the entire Float Pool.
