Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education supplemented by completion of appropriate courses at the post secondary school level.
  • A minimum of one-year experience in a clerical position.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience will be acceptable.
  • Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Windows driven programs, photocopiers, and printers.
  • Knowledge of the Versadex RMS, JIS, and Motor Vehicle Portal is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages would be considered an asset.
  • An ability to deal with difficult customers

As a Clerk, you will be responsible for managing essential administrative tasks, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with communication between various departments. What You'll Do:

  • Criminal Record Checks
  • Filing
  • Prepare court document letters
  • Scanning documents
  • Reception/Switchboard
  • Mail delivery/pick-up at City Hall and within building
  • Data entry of tickets and motor vehicle accidents
  • Enter data from complaints received through the Telephone Queue
  • Outlook and daily schedule updates
  • Other duties as required

What You Bring:

  • Knowledge of departmental operating procedures, policies and guidelines
  • Ability to work within a team environment to accomplish organizational objectives and goals while maintaining positive working relationships
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and written. The ability to communicate in both official languages would be considered an asset
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other departments, and outside agencies
  • Ability to identify issues or problems and develop strategies, ideas and opportunities for resolving them
  • Strong organizational skills for planning and prioritizing work to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Utilize software systems proficiently to manage information that is required to perform job
  • Ability to respond to changing circumstances and situations by being flexible and innovative, willing to learn new skills as required, and altering behavior to adapt to different situations. Respond to all circumstances by remaining calm in stressful situations
  • Take responsibility for actions and make decisions that are consistent with ethical standards. Take responsibility and ownership for decisions, actions, and results. Accountable for both how and what is accomplished
