The Transmission Power Line Technician/Distribution and Construction lineman will be responsible to safely and efficiently operate, construct, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and perform emergency restoration of transmission electrical systems in adherence with all work methods and practices.
Key functions include:
• Construct & maintain high voltage lines, terminals and substations as per established practices, procedures and work methods.
• Carry out preventative and emergency maintenance on the Transmission system, including live line maintenance, using the live line tools and bare hand work methods.
• Operate and carry out emergency maintenance on the Transmission system including call-outs in extreme weather conditions, assessment of outages and remedial action to restore transmission systems.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Power Line Technician CQ Or Distribution Construction Lineman CQ
• A valid Class 1E Driver's
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
