As we continue to grow and enhance our IT capabilities, we are seeking a proactive and skilled Level 1 IT Support Technician to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis (0.5 FTE).
Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services the IT Support Technician will be the first point of contact for our internal IT support needs. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across a range of IT applications, including specialized systems such as bed alarms, call bell systems, and e-charting applications. You will work closely with our external IT providers and support our learning management systems and Microsoft suite applications, ensuring seamless operations within our facility.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal IT-related inquiries and support requests.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across multiple platforms and applications.
System Maintenance:
Monitor and maintain the functionality of specialized IT infrastructure, including bed alarm systems, call bell systems, and e-charting applications.
Ensure the smooth operation of learning management systems and Microsoft Office suite applications.
Vendor Coordination:
Collaborate with external IT service providers to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
Assist in the implementation and testing of system updates and new applications.
User Assistance & Training:
Ensures that staff working with dashboards and other information systems are supported in their use of such applications.
Develop and distribute user-friendly documentation to enhance IT literacy among staff members.
Proactive Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement within our IT systems and recommend solutions.
Assist in the periodic review and update of IT policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications & Credentials
Education & Certifications:
A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Industry-recognized certifications are highly preferred.
Additional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Professional, ITIL Foundation) are considered an asset.
A combination of demonstrated skills and years of experience will also be considered.
Technical Experience:
Demonstrated experience in providing IT support in a multi-application environment.
Hands-on experience with learning management systems and Microsoft Office suite applications.
Familiarity with specialized IT systems within a healthcare or care services setting (e.g., bed alarms, call bell systems, e-charting platforms) is a strong advantage.
Interpersonal & Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to technical challenges.
