Your Contribution
As a Team Lead, you will work in collaboration with the Geotechnical Team.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Provide consulting services in geotechnical engineering, construction quality control, and materials testing while ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations (e.g., CSA, ASTM, OPSS).
- Lead, mentor, and mobilize a team of geotechnical engineers and civil technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise projects, ensuring efficiency and quality in all deliverables.
- Chair periodic team meetings and maintain clear, open communication within the department.
- Develop and implement training plans to support the professional growth and career advancement of team members.
- Support recruitment efforts by identifying and attracting top industry talent.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are set up and executed in full compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Serve as the Quality Assurance Reviewer for geotechnical and construction quality control projects, ensuring technical accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in business development efforts, helping to manage and execute strategic initiatives related to geotechnical services in the Ottawa region.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, working closely with the senior leadership team to support business growth.
- Participate in regional strategic planning meetings and help implement up-to-date business processes.
- Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules.
Your Profile
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and/or construction quality control and materials testing.
- Experience in managing a portfolio of projects and leading a team of project engineers and/or civil technicians.
- University Degree in Civil Engineering and/or College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
- Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO), and/or Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
- Strong business acumen with experience in client management, proposal preparation, and project budgeting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor, develop, and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present technical information to clients and stakeholders Willingness and ability to travel throughout Northern Ontario as required.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (if required).
