Job Summary
The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist II (Mammography) performs mammography examinations, breast localization, core biopsies and other related specialized procedures. The technologist is responsible for positioning of patients, setting up of equipment, processing images using standard positioning and processing techniques. The Technologist also performs quality control tests on x-ray and processing equipment, recognizes and reports equipment malfunctions, performs routine preventative equipment maintenance, assists radiologists in the performance of interventional procedures and performs other related duties as required.

Regularly lifts or moves objects up to 50 lbs (i.e. supplies, equipment, portable x-ray machines, radiology gowns for patients, lead plates and vests).
Occasionally pushes and pulls objects, or transport patients over 50 lbs.
Required to constantly stand and walk for extended periods in order to manage the workflow of the department activities or to perform procedures/scans.
Fine finger or precision work is constantly required to check information on the computer.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized (accredited) program in Medical Radiography Technology is required.
Successful completion of the Mammography I and Mammography II didactic courses and must be willing to enroll and successfully complete the CAMRT Certificate in Breast Imaging.
Current registration and member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
