WorkSafeNB is seeking a one-year term contract for a Nurse Consultant. Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Services, you will act as clinical support and make recommendations to assist in decision-making and the progression of claims. Recommendations will include the funding of prescription drugs for claims and the eligibility of clients to be assessed for a Permanent Physical Impairment. You will provide recommendations regarding the compatibility of an injury with a reported accident for the purposes of assisting with the classification and coding of claims and will make recommendations in support of triaging opinions to appropriate consultants.
Your key areas of responsibility are as follows:
· Making quality clinical recommendations regarding the eligibility and continuation of a drug in relation to a compensable injury and to assist in the appropriate classification and coding of claims.
· Performing eligibility assessments for Permanent Physical Impairment (PPI). You will use clinical knowledge to determine if there may be physical impairment from a compensable injury for the purpose of establishing client eligibility for a PPI.
· Using clinical knowledge to ensure the organization has access to a quality drug formulary system.
· Ensuring timely access to quality clinical opinions needed to progress claims by supporting the triage of questions to consultants with appropriate skills and knowledge.

You, as a successful candidate, possess:
· Must have a university degree in the fields of Nursing, Occupational Nursing or Pharmacy.
· Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of Occupational Nursing experience.
· Must have knowledge of trends in the field of healthcare including occupational medicine, rehabilitation research, and pharmacology.
· Must hold current registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick.
· Knowledge of Nursing legislation and compliance.
· Experience in Emergency Nursing, Family Practice Nursing, Pharmacy, or Insurance Medicine would be an asset.
· Certification in Occupational Nursing would be considered an asset.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
Pay Scale $77,735.49 to $91,452.80
Hours of work are those required to perform the assigned tasks but shall not be less than 35 hours per week.
Your primary workspace will be from your in-home office, with the occasional expectation of in person meetings, for that reason, working from outside the province or country is not permissible.
