DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Business Intelligence Practice within TD Analytics, Insights and Artificial Intelligence (AI2) is the enterprise go-to destination for high-quality self-serve Business Intelligence solutions including but not limited to tools, reports, dashboards, cubes and scorecards. The Practice's mission is to develop best-in-class business Intelligence solution built on golden source of truth with integrated standard to drive value for our colleagues and customers.

Job responsabilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence, this position will be accountable for providing specialized end to end BI support, visualization / presentation, and solutions to support decision making in the Wealth Segment. The BI Specialist is considered a subject matter expert in BI and Reporting. Accountable for the development, adoption and ongoing evolution of a best-in-class reporting and/or BI capability and may deliver on ad-hoc projects as assigned. We are looking for a self-motivated and innovative individual who excels in a fast-paced and high impact analytics & reporting team, with a strong ability to leverage different data tools and techniques to drive key business objectives.
CUSTOMER
- Produce specialized reporting packages, dashboards, and scorecards for businesses, with focus on understanding objectives and delivering insights for: (1) product design and development; (2) customer engagement; (3) account management; and (4) business decision making.
- Use various methodologies to rapidly generate impactful interactive visualizations or tools.
- Lead the implementation of initiatives in support of overall business/function strategy.
- Conduct analysis to provide enhanced BI to inform management leadership team.
- Create complex and comprehensive BI reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data infrastructure, localized DataMart's and external data sources and transform into visual stories using appropriate systems to support client objectives.
- Identify and propose data presentations to meet evolving business's needs; utilize various technology/ applications/ methodologies to rapidly generate impactful visualizations.
- Validate the quality and integrity of the data included in the Reporting Packages and Dashboards
- Develop meaningful and insightful commentary/ insights on new and existing reporting packages.
- Work with business partners to understand business objectives and develop value-added reporting and provide ad-hoc data extracts.
- Adopt, implement, and effectively evolve report automation and/or visualization standards.
- As a subject matter expert, to provide advisory or consultative services for supported colleagues and/or businesses regarding multi-format data visualization techniques.

- Ensure business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets)
- Participate in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations.
- Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development/ delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience.
- Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices.
- Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist.
- Lead / facilitate and/or implement actions / remediation plans to address performance / risk /governance issues.
- Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.

BREADTH & DEPTH:
- Work autonomously and accountable for acting as a lead within a specialized BI & Reporting function and may provide work direction to others.
- Provide seasoned specialized knowledge, advice, and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members.
- Expert knowledge of reporting and BI platforms, tools and techniques used within enterprise and within broader industry and ability to effectively leverage it to support broad range of reporting and BI functions.
- Expert at utilizing data sources across the organization with ability to integrate data across multiple platforms.
- Expert at utilizing data visualization techniques / tools across the organization to support multiple businesses.
- May be expected to present to senior management or executives.
- Work effectively across multiple business units with numerous stakeholders to deliver reporting and BI solutions.
- Generally, focus on broad range of complex issues that may span from medium – long term issues (e.g. 6-12 months)
- Undertake and complete a variety of complex projects and initiatives requiring specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes within own area of expertise.
- Oversee and/or independently perform tasks from end to end.
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, or computer science). Graduate's degree preferred with either progressive project work experience
- 5+ year of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted.
- Experience building complex scripts in Pyspark, Python and SQL syntax by using standard data analytics and visualization libraries
- Experience work with Azure, Databricks and Synapse
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, debug and disseminate significant amounts of information with diligence and accuracy
- Ability to contribute to and maintain git repositories, Bitbucket
- Subject Matter Expertise in Business Intelligence & Reporting domain
- Experience with visualization tools like Tableau / Power BI
- Knowledge of financial space is ideal
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and time management abilities
- Experience with working team environment and capable of leading small group of analysts to complete large projects
