WorkSafeNB is accepting applications for full-time (permanent and temporary assignments) and part-time (temporary assignments only) English and Bilingual positions for the role of Document Processing Clerk.

Reporting to the Team Lead, Document Processing, you will perform the necessary daily functions and tasks associated with the processing of incoming, outgoing, and internal correspondence/mail for WorkSafeNB clients and employees.

Your key areas of responsibility include:

  • Preparing and scanning documents for electronic imagining.
  • Coding and indexing source documents for the purpose of identification within an electronic file and to ensure data accuracy as it relates to the job function.
  • Ensuring that corrections and the transfer of documents from one master claim file to another are carried out according to standards.
  • Creating and registering new claims through proper identification and data entry.
  • Expediting missing information on source documents.
  • Ensuring imaged documents meet the required standards and to take appropriate action when the standards are not met.
  • Providing back up for WorkSafeNB's mailroom.
  • Searching and retrieving microfilm files upon request.
  • Providing back up for claims inquiry toll free line.

You as the ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • A high school diploma as a minimal educational requirement.
  • Knowledge of MS Software particularly MS Word.
  • Must have proficient typing abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, experience in operating electronic office equipment, and knowledge of filing systems is an asset.

Written and spoken competence in English is required for some opportunities; written and spoken competency in English and French is required for others.

Pay Scale $22.26 per hour.

Benefits will vary depending on the type of position being considered (permanent or temporary)

This is a hybrid position, and you will be asked to work at head office in Saint John regularly based on the schedule. You may also be required to attend occasional in person meetings. For these reasons, working from outside the province of New Brunswick, or country, is not permissible.

Organization

WorkSafeNB administers no-fault workplace accident and disability insurance for employers and their workers, funded solely through assessments on employers. All employers having three or more workers are obligated to obtain compensation coverage.

WorkSafeNB is committed to preventing workplace injuries and illness through education and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

WorkSafeNB is administered by a board of directors consisting of the chairperson, a vice-chairperson, the president and CEO (non-voting member), the chairperson of the Appeals Tribunal (non-voting member), five members representing workers, and five members representing employers. Assessments are affected by the level of activities in the province's workplaces, as are the resulting claims. There are also substantial assets that ensure WorkSafeNB will be able to provide the ongoing benefits promised to injured workers through a wage loss recovery insurance system. These funds are invested in the financial markets and investment returns are subject to the ups and downs of the marketplace.
