Horizon Health Network is seeking full-time Geriatric Psychiatrists to join our team!

Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking enthusiastic candidates to provide quality geriatric psychiatry care in the Saint John region. The ideal candidate will have experience in collaborative multidisciplinary, community Seniors' Addiction and Mental Health care.

Base salary range $305,091 – $370,925, plus FFS billing opportunities, paid time off (vacation and education leave), health/travel insurance benefits, sick benefits, employer paid contributions to our pension plan.

Relocation Allowance: $8,000.

Signing Incentive: $50,000 (with 2-year retention contract).

Who you are

You have a Medical Degree from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies (residency) in the field of Psychiatry.

You have experience in collaborative multidisciplinary Seniors' Addiction and Mental Health care.

Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship would be preferred.

You have Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a valid license through New Brunswick College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB) and become a member of the NB Medical Society.

What you will do

Our ideal candidate will collaborate with other Physicians, Nursing and other Allied medical staff in the following areas:

  • Community-based Seniors' Addiction and Mental Health (AMH) team (Saint John and rural satellite AMH clinics) providing consultations and longitudinal care to seniors via in-office, virtual and in-home/LTC visits.
  • Close collaboration with our outstanding Geriatric Medicine colleagues including consultations to in-patient units.
  • Geriatric Psychiatry Inpatient coverage for approximately 5 beds.
  • ECT Service

All members of our department are expected to provide:

  • After-hours and weekend on-call coverage for adults and children, providing care for inpatients and consultation to the emergency department (paid stipend and fee-for-service billing).
  • ECT Service
  • Clinical supervision of medical students and residents.
