Title: Emergency Management Advisor, Skills Development and Maintenance

In this role you will:
- Develop the tools and activities needed to acquire and maintain public safety preparedness skills, in collaboration with the relevant departments of the CRC.
- Support the development of theoretical and practical training, including adapted simulations, exercises and workshops.
- Design, propose and coordinate exercises and workshops to ensure consistency between services.
- Coach participants and provide personalized support to maximize learning.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through participant feedback.
- Represent the Canadian Red Cross team to internal and external partners.
- Facilitate working committees, workshops and meetings with internal and/or external partners.
- Be available to support large-scale disaster response.
- Be available and ready to mobilize during the deployment of the Emergency Preparedness Response Reserve.
- Supervise and support a group of volunteers and reservists under their direct supervision.
- Assume periods of on-call duty
- Plan and implement identified projects.
- Apply, maintain and implement CRC standards and procedures.
- Make recommendations to improve documentation, tools and procedures.
- Develop, write and update documentation, tools and procedures.
- Support the implementation and use of tools, procedures and systems.
- Advise and support the management structure and staff of the program or business area.
- Proactively and continuously monitor and research developments in their business area.
- Represent their business area and/or collaborate with internal working groups, including national groups and colleagues from other jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain external partnerships.
- Prepare various expert, analytical and statistical reports.
- Participate in the development of annual objectives for their area of activity or sector.
- Support the achievement of objectives and activities for their area of activity or program.
- Actively participate in the follow-up, documentation and evaluation of assigned files and projects.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline; any other combination of training and experience may be considered.
- Graduate degree in disaster management (an asset).
- At least five (5) years of relevant and recognized experience in training, facilitation, and/or skills development.
- Applied knowledge in emergency preparedness.
- Proven analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in French and English is mandatory.
- Excellent knowledge of and practical experience with the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience working in a volunteer environment is an asset.
- Class 5 driver's licence.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time and priorities.
- Attention to accuracy and detail.
- Capacity to be flexible, autonomous and proactive in finding solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Interpersonal skills and professionalism.
Working Conditions :
- Most of the work is done in an office environment or remotely, and the incumbent must be available to travel when required.
- The schedule is 35 hours/week, but work hours may vary during local and national emergency operations.
- Possibility of responding in difficult, unstable (environmentally, physically, socially, etc.) and uncomfortable conditions that may impact physical and psychological conditions in the field.
