Senior Manager, Client Insights & Analytics, Canadian Commercial Banking
Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Canadian Commercial Banking ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Leads development and ongoing management of Client Insights, Leads & Opportunities, Management Reporting and Go-To-Market Strategies.
Accountabilities:
• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Turn data into insights by identifying new revenue opportunities, reduced costs and improved operational efficiencies.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
• Executes and track leads, prospects for Sales and Product partners.
• Provide solid analytics and insights to Canadian Commercial Banking in order to drive revenue, execute against product campaigns, improve the customer experience and protect the Bank.
• Manage stakeholders including Executives and translate business needs and strategy into technical requirements.
• Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
• Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team. Develops team expertise in data mining and strong analytics capabilities.
Education / Experience / Other Information
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics or Statistics
• Master's degree in Computer Science – preferred
Experience:
• 3+ years of data engineering and software experience
• 3+ years' experience in Data Visualization, Business Intelligence using Tableau and/or Power BI
• 3+ years experience in building data pipelines and/or data warehousing
• Enjoy discovering and learning new technologies
• Detailed experience in the following: Unix, Mainframe, SQL, SAS, Python other programming tools
• Experience accessing, compiling and analyzing large volumes of data into usable form
Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
• Strong prioritizing, analytical, presentation, project management and planning skills
• Effective strategic thinking, organizational know-how and influencing skills are critical for success
• High degree of knowledge of commercial products and profit drivers
• Strong technical skills in Math, Computer Science or related fields
• Excellent design and delivery capabilities
Working Conditions:
• Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
