What you will do?
This position will offer the opportunity to lead, manage and implement a range of projects.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of the Contamination Prevention and Management Section, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
- providing technical guidance on the maintenance of, and emergency responses related to, the Department-owned water distribution systems and fuel systems;
- providing guidance in the field for various contamination or spill events;
- reviewing environmental audit data and reports, and providing associated recommendations;
- writing technical reports;
- developing schedules, scopes of work, budgets, and recommendations; and
- providing various sampling, water/fuel system maintenance and environmental stewardship training to DTI staff.
Work environment:
- Office location: 440 King Street, Fredericton.
- Open office layout.
- Standard hours of work: Monday â?? Friday.

- Travel within the province will be required.

Essential Qualifications:
Engineer 2:
- University degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Environmental or Geological);
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience;
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
Engineer 1:
- University degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Environmental or Geological).
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset(s):
- Experience with contaminated site and/or potable water distribution system and/or fuel system management.
- Specialized Subject Matter Expertise and Knowledge in contaminated sites, water distribution system and/or fuel system management.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:
Engineer 2: $2,658.78 to $3,552.34 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
Engineer 1: $2,276.19 to $2,897.85 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
