Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Business Application Services Branch as a Senior Systems Analyst.
In this senior role, you will be reporting to the Supervisor, Senior Business Systems Analyst. You will be responsible to manage daily projects, analysis/design, development, application support and maintenance activities, resolution of incidents and fulfillment of requests for various internal and public facing applications.

What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Supervisor, Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and management of activities associated with the efficient and effective delivery of technologies and solutions.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide guidance to the team with regards to standards and processes for deliverables
- Providing day to day application development, maintenance, and support functions as needed.
- Participate in team scrum meetings.
- Acts as the senior systems analyst in the support of existing applications and the development of new functionality in a Semi-Agile environment.
- Providing technical expertise and mentoring in all aspects of application development, maintenance, and support.
- Providing technical expertise and mentoring with regards to standards and processes for deliverables.
- Ensuring application design/development, maintenance and support activities adhere to policies, standards, processes, and procedures.
- Preparing documentation as required, including capturing business requirements, regular status reporting.
- Reviewing and documenting the technical architecture and solution design for the team
- Lead problem-solving efforts for complex technical issues
- Lead the team in infrastructure areas including servers(Linux/Windows) provisioning, firewall rules, patching and system upgrades.
- Supporting the application support lead in overseeing system interoperability and testing activities within the scheduled time and/or cost parameters.
- Assists team members in the implementation of technical solutions into production.
- Assists the application support lead in planning maintenance releases, technology upgrades, other operational activities.
- Multi-tasking in a fast pace environment with multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines, and any other related duties as assigned.
- Working with the other SNB teams as needed.
- Working with business analysts, technical teams, and business units to review business needs, recommend and develop solutions to address their requirements.
- Working with clients to facilitate workshops including defining and documenting client business processes, current and future state, as well as analysing and documenting gaps between requirements and solution deliverables.
- Contributing to defining, documenting, and improving on issue, change, and risk management processes.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidates must possess:
- A university degree in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years related experience in system development and support OR a two (2) year college diploma in Information Technology with a minimum of ten (10) years Information Management or Information Technology (IM/IT) experience.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in the following areas:
- Experience with business analysis and requirements gathering
- Experience working in an Agile or Semi-Agile environment.
- Experience using other technology related tools in support of day to day work such as Team Foundation Server (TFS), Remedy, Clarity.
- Experience with Front End Frameworks, such as JQuery
- Experience with Java development, jboss, ASP.Net, VB.Net, C#.Net, Entity Framework, and PowerBuilder would be an asset
- Experience with Oracle, SQL server, SQL server procedures and SQL functions would be an asset
- Experience with planning and managing software releases
- Experience in assessing the impacts and risks of customization and configuration to support long term system and business process sustainability within an SaaS application.
- Knowledgeable in Data Conversion/Migrations, Inbound/Outbound interfaces, and Reports with 3rd party applications.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Some weekday evening and weekend work hours may be required on occasion.
- Some travel throughout the province may be required, and you must possess a valid driverâ??s license.
- Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
