As part of the Provincial Field Engineering Team, the Regional Engineer has both supervisory responsibilities as well as technical responsibilities which requires an extensive understanding of NBP's standards and policies.
Key functions include:
• Lead a team of up to 15 employees - Duties include conducting performance management, approving time, attending monthly safety & engineering meetings, and building employee relationships.
• Be the decision maker and subject matter expert by staying up to date on current procedures around electronic line design, NB Power construction practices, CSA standards, Rates, Schedules & Policies as well as Service Entrance Standards to ensure overall effectiveness of the engineering group and manage escalated issues or concerns, for both internal and external parties.
• Work with the Transmission and Distribution planning groups, ensuring a smooth transition between systems and departments (StakeOut, CAD/OMS, SAP)
The ideal teammate will have:
• BSc. Electrical Engineering with Professional Engineer designation
OR
• BSc. Engineering (or related science)
• Eight years of experience as an Engineer, with at least five of those years of experience in Electrical Engineering
• Four years of leadership experience
AND
• Working experience with the following software:
Stakeout
Cyme
CAD/OMS
Cascade
SAP
Cognos Impromptu
AutoCAD
Power Quality Analyzer Software
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
