About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Virtual Care. The Program Manager of Virtual Care is accountable for developing and implementing the appropriate course of action for end user escalations.
This role is responsible for:
- Leading, overseeing, planning and organizing activities related to the ongoing development and support of the Virtual Care program, including subject matter issues, change management, communications, and policy development.
- Overseeing the development and deployment of provincial program policies and guidelines and informs and advises partners regarding current trends, challenges and activities which affect policy.
- Leading the selection and implementation of appropriate standards for provincial eHealth solutions by developing, influencing and/or participating in eHealth standards initiatives.
- Overseeing the daily operations of the provincial program and ensuring compliance with provincial policies and applicable regulatory standards, system integrity, development of efficient workflow, operational processes, support and troubleshooting of problems and preventative maintenance.
- Leading the development and implementation of communication plans that promote awareness of the virtual care program.
- Providing leadership to provincial and regional working groups responsible for the development and ongoing sustainability of program guidelines, training, privacy, security and other related activities.
- Effectively collaborate to enhance virtual care in alignment with strategic priorities, including the Health Accord, transformation and government priorities.
- Overseeing the development and management of an ongoing continuous quality improvement process, for example, by overseeing the utilization of the provincial Governance Accountability Framework.
- Developing annual budget, monitoring financial activities and reporting significant variances while demonstrating sound fiscal management.

- Experience in a provincial health care environment; specifically in relation to Virtual Care from the clinical and business aspect and familiarity with other eHealth programs.
Your Experience and Education
- Undergraduate degree (Master's degree considered an asset) in a health related field supplemented by relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years working in a progressively responsible health care management role, of which, 3 years of experience in a people management role is preferred. This experience would include leading work teams and assigning resources to support the achievement of organizational objectives
- Leadership and management training preferred
- Project management and privacy training preferred
- Experience in working with contractors/vendors preferred
