The Director, Productivity Enablement plays a pivotal role in driving the Canadian Banking (CB) Productivity agenda by enabling the successful delivery of workstreams & initiatives. As a member of the Productivity Office, the Director, Productivity Enablement will be assigned to specific workstreams and work with their owners and teams to accelerate progress and raise ambition. They will accomplish this through driving strategic alignment to the broader Productivity Program, developing workstreams & initiatives, tracking value and progress, providing execution support, and challenging the status quo. Reporting to the VP, Productivity, the Director, Productivity Enablement is instrumental in achieving Scotiabank's CB productivity targets and ultimately driving greater value for the Productivity program.

Strategic Alignment

Ensure alignment between each business line's individual workstreams & initiatives and the broader CB ambition

Serve as a champion for the CB Productivity program, driving and embedding the CB Productivity team's culture throughout the organization and acting as a liaison between business lines, the Productivity Office, and CB leadership

Understand key interdependencies between workstreams & initiatives, proactively raising potential issues in timeline and sequencing of workstreams & initiatives

Workstream & Initiative Development

Support workstream owners with the development of their workstream & initiative charters, ensuring a clear articulation aligned to the Productivity Office standards (e.g., gate terminology)

Pressure test estimated value delivery and timelines to ensure a high degree of confidence in completed charters

Progress and Value Tracking

Work with workstream owners and their teams to monitor progress versus plan, proactively searching for opportunities for accelerating timelines

Work with Finance, workstream owners, and their teams to assess and pressure test value delivery versus baseline, proactively searching for opportunities to enhance value delivery

Execution Support

Support teams in the execution of their workstreams and initiatives, providing leverage to accelerate value delivery

Support teams in flagging and removing obstacles blocking progress, escalating blockers to leadership where required

Ensure adherence to a robust stage-gate methodology, from ideation to execution, to support finance with tracking across the CB productivity portfolio

Challenge the Status Quo

Inspire the team to raise their ambitions and set higher benchmarks for success, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Actively question existing practices and assumptions to identify opportunities for improvements

Proven track record of leading transformation or productivity initiatives

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in financial modeling and data interpretation

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment across senior leaders

Familiarity with productivity tools, governance frameworks, and continuous improvement methodologies

Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is preferred
