Associate Director, National Accounts - Automotive Finance
The Associate Director supports the management of a portfolio of highly complex National Accounts in Canada, ensuring business strategies and plans are aligned for portfolio growth and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Promotes the development and profitable growth of the Automotive commercial banking portfolio, by developing & managing a comprehensive strategy, by demonstrating ability to analyze and understand financial statements, identifying trends and with that providing advice/feedback internally and to our clients to establish value and profitability for the overall book of business.
- Builds internal collaboration between teams to bring the whole bank to the customer to deepen the relationship with internal resources for credit and non-credit related products. This is inclusive of facilitating the involvement of key bank resources and stakeholder for further business interests as well as assisting NAC Credit Solutions with Annual Reviews and standard credit requests.
- Proactively engages with client to be current on their overall strategy and demonstrating strong commercial knowledge to identify broader sales opportunities/potential challenges and to uncover additional value to bring to the customer.
- Lead the development of proposals, managing the internal/external collaboration to bring a best-in-class recommendation.
- Ensure deep understanding of the credit structuring process such as Deal Summaries, Discussion Papers and Term Sheets, all commercial bank products, processes, and sales skills to grow the commercial and retail market share and maintain high level of customer relationship.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- An undergraduate degree in business or economics (or work equivalency) is a requirement
- 5+ years of financial industry commercial banking experience with expert knowledge of the commercial banking marketplace in Canada with a preference with automotive finance experience
- Well developed credit skills with deep knowledge in analyzing bank statements
- Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Salesforce, & other commercial platforms
- Broad knowledge of Bank's commercial lending and deposit products and services, and customer profitability model to provide integrated financial solutions

Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Frequent domestic travel & International travel as needed.
