The Transfers Administrator is responsible for providing courteous, accurate and timely information to our internal business lines (ScotiaMcLeod, iTRADE, Scotiatrust and PIC) relating to the processing of external transfer requests. This includes addressing inquiries on initiations, processing, timing, and general inquiries regarding the account transfer process. The Transfers Administrator will also be responsible for cross training and participating in team meetings and huddles to gain and share knowledge and maintain best practices and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Complete all transfer related activities in an efficient manner
- Process, review, and follow up on redemption requests
- Build and maintain strong relationships with other firms and internal departments to resolve problems/issues in a timely manner
- Assist management with planning and continual process review by bringing forward ideas and implementing communication and other recommended changes
- Review various reports/systems to follow-up on outstanding transfers and aged items, ensuring accounts are commented accordingly
- Resolve problems, issues and situations at a senior level as required, identify anomalies and errors, and conduct the appropriate correcting entries and/or activity, fee issues, and claims/cancellations
- Ensure client accounts are thoroughly noted, clearly detailing the timeline and status of the transfers
- Accurately record daily statistics of all inquiries received and completed
- Provide coverage as required during absence and or increased volumes
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Post secondary education
- Experience in the Financial services industry preferred
- Knowledge of Broadridge applications and other wealth management applications
- Experience working with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of securities products such as GIC's, Equities, Mutual Funds and Bonds
- Some knowledge of Interbroker Transfer procedures and CIRO regulatory requirements is an asset
- Effective communication skills both oral and written
- The ability to work independently and multi-task in a team-oriented environment
- An ability to work well under pressure and effective negotiating skills
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving skills
