Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) delivers best-in-class external and internal communications to help differentiate TD in the market and elevate our brand. We deliver on CAPA's mission to inspire and connect our customers, communities and colleagues through communications, conversations and advocacy that enrich lives, drive business outcomes, and enhance our brand.

Role Overview

We are looking for a professional communicator to help tell the Bank's story and bring our purpose to life. The successful candidate will plan, develop and deliver engaging content for our Transformation, Enablement and Customer Experience (TECE) businesses with a focus on supporting customer-focused internal and external communication programs that spotlight our brand, advocate for our customers and engage our audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business partners and CAPA colleagues to develop and execute on comprehensive media relations and internal communications strategies showcasing and elevating Marketing; North American Customer Operations; Strategy, Change and Operational Excellence and other functions within TD's TECE business.

  • Create impactful and meaningful communication materials including press releases, articles, media pitches, and announcements all with the aim to engage customers, colleagues and enhance our brand.

  • Support and develop creative campaigns across earned, owned, and paid platforms, elevating TD's customer-focused leadership voice, engage colleagues, and extend our brand.

  • Lead communications for signature national programs, working in collaboration with teams across CAPA to effectively tell our story, and support communications plans and materials for colleague engagement programs.

  • Build relationships with media, influencers, spokespeople and other stakeholders to identify proactive opportunities and manage media requests, identifying opportunities to connect our brand within our communities.

  • Champion storytelling through digital channels partnering closely with our Digital Content team.

  • Develop and sustain metrics for monitoring and continuous improvement of communications.

  • Work collaboratively with agency partners.

What you bring to the role:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications or agency communications environment.

  • Experience developing and executing innovative communications plans to effectively drive results.

  • Track record in both proactive and reactive media relations.

  • A passion for storytelling, with exceptional writing skills and a strong command of language.

  • Critical thinking and sound judgment applied to a variety of situations and scenarios.

  • Relationship management skills, with experience managing agency relationships and providing communications counsel and issues management to business partners and leaders.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment delivering success both independently and collaboratively with colleagues across the bank.

  • Undergraduate degree or PR/marketing/corporate communications certification, designations, or equivalent preferred.

  • Digital fluency and demonstrated experience using social media for corporate clients.
