The Department of Social Development is seeking an individual to join the Homelessness and Supports Unit as a Provincial Program Consultant at Central Office in Fredericton. Remote work may be considered.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and implementation of provincial programming, the development of standards, policies, guidelines and provincial monitoring services, managing service agreements, and providing input and direction for future state of service and supports in relation to homelessness. The Consultant will lead numerous projects and initiatives within the Branch, represent the Branch on internal and external committees as well as provide advice to the senior executive team based on current and projected trends and provincial impact. The Consultant is expected to maintain an awareness of service developments in the province, in other jurisdictions, and in professional literature. This position involves establishing effective working relationships with persons both within and outside the Department. The ability to work effectively on an independent basis and within groups is essential. The Consultant must have strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and planning skills as well as the capacity to cope with short time deadlines. The Consultant will be expected to collect and analyze data specific to program areas. The Consultant may be asked to assist with other program areas within the Branch and other duties may be assigned as required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in a related discipline with at least three (3) years of experience in the social services sector with a focus on serving vulnerable clients OR a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with at least five (5) years of experience work-related experience in homelessness, case management, in the non-profit sector.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate experience in one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Knowledge or demonstrated experience in best practices serving vulnerable clientele.
- Experience in financial management and/or funding models.
- Experience with writing reports, briefing notes, and/or correspondence.
Subject to the response of this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate one or more of the asset qualifications on their application in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Travel throughout the province may be required and candidates must possess a valid driver's license.

Salary: $64,974 to $90,740 per annum
