The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Technology Co-op Student to join our Technology Business Partner and End-User Computing (EUC) Services Department team in Sudbury. This is a fixed term position, working a Monday to Friday Schedule. This is a 8-12 month-fixed term co-op position starting in May 2025. As a Technology Co-op Student , you will undertake the duties required to assist the overall Business Partner/EUC team in business process optimization, change management, business analysis and varied technology project delivery. Although previous experience in mining, technology or an industrial setting is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences – and that's what makes us great! Additionally, in this position you will:
  • Assist in supporting small to medium-sized projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and provide IT solutions that align with their goals.
  • Use tools like Power BI and Excel to create and maintain reports, providing valuable insights and data visualization for business decision-making
  • Help identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
  • Assist in maintaining and organizing SharePoint sites to ensure easy access to important documents and resources
  • Address user inquiries, providing timely and effective resolutions to ensure smooth operation

About You Education:
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a Technology, Engineering. Mining or Business Analysis program
Experience:
  • Experience in an industrial/technology/mining environment would be considered an asset
  • Experience in project management and execution would be an additional asset
Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience in Windows based applications and Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Organizational, interpersonal communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a proven safety record is essential
  • Utilize good business optimization practices while minimizing costs
  • Develop skills and abilities related to the provision of technology services and solutions; business problem definition and technology project management and delivery to the relevant Operations
  • Follow Vale's Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards and ensure compliance to the applicable regulations, standards and guidelines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Provide technical support to enable safe and cost-effective operations
  • Monitor process parameters and communicate changes outside normal operational conditions to supervisor
  • Demonstrate Vale's Key behaviours of obsession with safety and open and transparent dialogue with a high level of professional conduct
