WorkSafeNB is seeking to fill a 20-month term contract for a Supply Chain Management Category Specialist. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Management Specialist is responsible to provide support for strategic procurement requests for the organization and assist in the preparation of applicable concurrent tender and competitive bidding documents and associated project management duties. They shall further help establish and maintain a qualified vendor program and administer contract management in accordance with public procurement standards, regulations, and corporate policies. The Supply Chain Management Specialist will also provide administrative and transactional support for Security Services, in the absence of the Supply Chain Manager, as required.

Your key areas of responsibility are as follows:

  • Work and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to develop appropriate procurement strategies to source and obtain best value goods and service
  • Establish and maintain associated procurement documentation files and reporting, vendor files and commodity and product information file
  • Support special assignments and major projects by conducting market research and identifying and recommending best supply chain practices

You, as a successful candidate, possess:

  • A diploma or university degree in a related field, or equivalent supply chain management experience and demonstrated knowledge, preferably in the public sector.
  • Professional certification, enrollment or become certified in the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA), Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO).

Written and spoken competency in English is required for this position.

Pay Scale $ 64,685.95 to $76,101.41

Hours of work are those required to perform the assigned tasks but shall not be less than 35 hours per week.

Your primary workspace will be from your in-home office, with the occasional expectation of in person meetings, for that reason, working from outside the province or country is not permissible.

WorkSafeNB administers no-fault workplace accident and disability insurance for employers and their workers, funded solely through assessments on employers. All employers having three or more workers are obligated to obtain compensation coverage.

WorkSafeNB is committed to preventing workplace injuries and illness through education and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Assessments are affected by the level of activities in the province's workplaces, as are the resulting claims. There are also substantial assets that ensure WorkSafeNB will be able to provide the ongoing benefits promised to injured workers through a wage loss recovery insurance system. These funds are invested in the financial markets and investment returns are subject to the ups and downs of the marketplace.
