Position Title: Social Innovator/Researcher Location: East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, Nova Scotia Employment Type: Part-Time (0.5 FTE)

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Social Innovator/Researcher to join our team. This position is ideal for a candidate passionate about fostering positive change through research, innovation, and collaboration in the healthcare and long-term care sectors.


Position Summary

The Social Innovator/Researcher will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and work closely with the leadership team in a collaborative and supportive culture. They will identify, analyze, and implement innovative solutions to enhance the well-being of residents, staff, and the broader community. Hybrid/remote work opportunities will be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
•Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for social innovation in resident care, staff support, and community engagement.
•Develop and implement innovative programs and strategies to address challenges in long-term care and enhance service delivery.
•Collect, analyze, and interpret data to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented initiatives.
•Collaborate with residents, staff, families, and community partners to co-create solutions and build capacity for sustainable change.
•Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders.
•Monitor trends and best practices in social innovation, healthcare, and long-term care to inform organizational priorities.
•Support grant writing and funding applications to secure resources for innovative projects.

Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and inclusivity within the organization.


Qualifications
•Undergraduate degree in Sociology, Social Sciences, or a related field (Graduate studies preferred).
•Demonstrated experience in social research, program development, or innovation initiatives.
•Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
•A passion for community building, social justice, and improving systems of care.
•Knowledge of the long-term care or healthcare sector is an asset.
