Service New Brunswick (SNB) is seeking an individual with Senior Business Systems Analyst expertise to join the Business Application Services branch as a supervisor within the Technology Services division.

Reporting to the Manager of Business Application Services, you will be responsible for activities associated with the effective identification and delivery of solutions to meet the business needs of multiple client departments. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise a dynamic team supporting Property Assessment applications, including work planning and performance management.
  • Provide direction to the team with regards to standards and processes for deliverables
  • Providing day to day application development, maintenance, and support functions as needed.
  • Participate in team scrum meetings.
  • Be familiar with and follow the SNB Solutions Delivery Framework, standards and practices
  • Facilitate workshops with technical and business colleagues to capture and document requirements, processes, future state etc.
  • Work with technical and business teams to analyze business needs to design or procure solutions that address business requirements
  • Work with technical and business teams to define and document solution benefits, and outcomes
  • Participate in the creation, review and update of other deliverables, including but not limited to:
    • Reporting requirements
    • Business impact analysis
    • Business process diagrams
    • Use cases / business models
    • Gap analysis
    • Testing & Implementation plans
  • Leading teams of solutions specialists, programmers, Database Administrators, and business stakeholders in coding, testing and implementing functionality that is identified by any of the aforementioned deliverables
  • Maintain strong and collaborative relationships with Business Application Services Team Members, Project Managers, Enterprise Architecture and other SNB teams
  • Maintain strong and collaborative relationships with client departments and business owners
  • Participate in activities related to the procurement of goods and services in accordance with the Procurement Act, including but not limited to:
    • Creating RFPs and RFIs for medium and large procurement efforts
    • Developing scorable criteria
    • Developing evaluation criteria for submissions
    • Taking part in evaluation committees for reviewing and scoring submissions

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidates must possess:

  • A university degree in Computer Science and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience as a Business Systems Analyst involving analysis/documentation of business processes and identification/documentation of business requirements OR a relevant two (2) year diploma and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience as a Business Systems Analyst involving analysis/documentation of business processes and identification/documentation of business requirements. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in employee work planning and performance management.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Business Analyst Courses or Certifications
  • Business systems analysis experience
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Experience with Property Assessment Services

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This position may require some travel; therefore, a candidates must possess a valid driverâ??s license or be eligible to obtain one.

This position may require periodic flexibility in working hours, which includes evenings and weekends.

Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
