The Property Coordinator, Business Development and Leasing is responsible for coordination of the Business Development & Leasing (Licensing) Opportunities for both property and marine business lines. This position has an internal and external focus working with the public, as well as staff to ensure effective support and ongoing coordination for the Business Development Division which will include coordinating the licensing, leasing and scheduling of events. The Property Coordinator, Business Development & leasing reports directly to the Program Manager, Business Development and Leasing.

Responsibilities

· Prepare the development of Business Development Opportunity documents which relate to both long-term tenancies and annual or one-time events.

· Support the relationships with commercial tenants and prospective tenants, across the full range of Build NS properties ensuring a high level of tenant relations is maintained through regular contact and proactive attention to tenant needs.

· Prepare leases and contracts for property/marine tenancies and/or with event organizers.

· Ensure process for lease administration and renewals is created and maintained.

· Review receivables and escalate to the department manager any arrears.

· Provide support to manager in relation to inquiries and requests related to commercial tenancies.

· Coordinate inquiries and requests for space related to tenancies, events, and programming.

· Support event/programming organizers to ensure successful events on owned and managed properties.

· Support relationships with event/programming organizers and other related stakeholders (such as BIDs, DMOs, government departments, arts & cultural organizations).

· Support operations division request for procurement.

· Provide on site support during events and programming as required.

· Support operations division as required.

Qualifications

· One (1) year secretarial, administration, property management or commercial course in addition to three (3) years of administration experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

· Proficiency in typing, word processing and other standard computer applications

· Strong organizational skills.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential in this role.

· Ability to multitask and deal with changing priorities will keep our team on track.

· Outstanding computer skills, specifically with MS Office, and the ability to learn new software quickly.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to prioritize and handle multiple deadlines.
