TD Wealth Operations is part of the Wealth National Office and is the operational engine of TD Wealth, acting as a center of excellence for core processes that underpin key moments in our clients' relationship, including Client Onboarding, Trading, Cash Management, Legislative Products, Client Statements and Tax. Wealth Operations enables all TD Wealth distribution channels, TD Mutual Funds, TD Asset Management, TD Securities and TD Retail

Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Wealth Operations Business Controls, the Manager, Business Control is responsible to oversee and lead the internal & external audits engagement for Wealth Operations and ensuring internal control testing plan and execution is effectively conducted based on requirements of the 1A function. The successful candidate will have the skills and abilities to work effectively with members of the Wealth Operations functional pillars, partners across Wealth shared Services, Governance and Control, Compliance, Organizational Risk Management, Audit, and Financial Crime Risk Management.

The accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead audit and regulatory engagement from OCC, FINTRAC, CIRO, MX, SOX, E&Y, Compliance, pRCSA, CRM, AML, ESDC and CRA.

  • Provide a comprehensive management support for all Audit engagement from initiation to conclusion; facilitate audit walk-through, preparing the Operations teams, supporting the review of testing samples and action plans if required.

  • Establish efficient interaction models and represent Wealth Operations as the lead relationship manager with: Governance and Control, Compliance, FRCM, Internal Audit and Business Control functions across Wealth.

  • Own an inventory of audit engagements, updates and reporting for senior management oversight.

  • Support the Operations team with the review of procedure, risk control refresh, develop action plans to address internal control gaps as well as root cause themes if applicable.

  • Performs control effectiveness review to ensure procedure meet policy, regulatory requirements, working as intended and address any gaps to increase the Risk and Control mindset of our Operations colleagues.

  • Contribute and support the Business Control Forum agenda to promote best practices, share ideas to drive consistency of approach across Operations.

  • Innovate to enhance and contribute to the team effectiveness by streamlining processes and develop tools to automate repetitive tasks or laborious routines, where possible

  • Lead the identification of opportunities to improve audit processes to deliver a better engagement experience to the Wealth Operations team.

  • Keep tabs on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements, and assess potential impacts to Wealth Operations.

  • Effectively manages ad-hoc projects, issue remediations, business requests and tasks of varying complexities and deadlines.

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Skills/Experience/Education

  • Demonstrated proficiency in 1B or 2B roles in Audit or other control functions considered an asset.

  • Solid knowledge of governance, risk assessment, review and challenges, control monitoring, testing and operations processes is an asset.

  • Strong communications skills; includes creating impactful presentations and presenting analysis to management and senior executives.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship management skills working with all levels of stakeholders and executives.

  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to change, ability to work in an ambiguous environment and work closely with peers where subject matter expertise is required.

  • Strong analytical skills, including risk analysis, data analysis and elevate the results for management consumption.

  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives to meet deadlines while ensuring a high quality of work.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups to identify issues, reach consensus and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Experience with ORM and pRCSA programs considered an asset.

  • Understating of TD Wealth Businesses and Operations processes is an asset.
