Job Summary
The Process Improvement Office encompasses a variety of services across the sectors of NLHS - acute, long-term care and community. Reporting to the Provincial Manager of Process Improvement, this position will be embedded in the Strategic Health Network team and have a matrix reporting relationship to the Director, Strategic Health Networks. The incumbent will act as an internal consultant in facilitation, coaching, and as a practitioner in change management and process improvement, to help build effective interdisciplinary teams and to enhance patient outcomes. The incumbent works closely with managers, providers, front-line staff, and affiliated practices to implement quality improvement processes, maintain quality assurance standards and assist with strategic directions of the organization.

Responsibilities will include acting as an internal consultant for facilitation, coaching, knowledge transfer, and as a change management expert, with the ability to prepare, support and equip teams to adopt changes in process during implementation and standardization phases; participating in strategic and operational planning to ensure that operational objectives are designed to achieve the expected results; advocating for program and policy development; and performing other related duties as required. The incumbent will play a key role in ensuring quality initiatives within family care teams meet objectives on time by increasing employee adoption and usage of required changes in process and will analyze performance and outcomes of process improvement activities.

Job Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, business, engineering, technology, or other related degree is required.
Lean Green Belt Certification is required.
Change management certificate is preferred.

Experience
Minimum of five years of experience within the last seven working in a healthcare environment is required.
Minimum of three years of experience in process improvement activities and demonstrated success in the coordination of Lean Quality Improvement operations with special expertise in Lean implementation is required.
Experience facilitating process improvement Kaizens is preferred.
Experience with change management is required.

Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills and innovation in problem solving and decision making. Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders.
Demonstrated effective time management skills with the ability to manage tight timelines and meet deadlines.
Ability to work with high degree of independence and initiative.

Current registration/licensure in the relevant professional association is required, if applicable.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
