The Opportunity

As a Medavie Functional IT Analyst, you will work with project stakeholders and business partners to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs for our Finance, Administration and Claims Systems. You will be responsible to manage business expectations and advise, persuade and/or negotiate on problems, situations, or decisions of a simple to complex nature between stakeholders and serve as the liaison between customer community & software development teams.

This role can be r emote within Atlantic Canada, with in-office or hybrid options for those near one of our locations.

Work Status: Due to Security Clearance requirement, we need candidate to be in Canada from at least 5 years and their status should be Permanent Resident or Citizen now.

Your every day with us consists of:

  • Working with project resources to plan and define scopes of work
  • Facilitating efforts and working with business analysis resources to refine business and stakeholder requirements
  • Identifying impact of requirements on processes impacted by the requested changes
  • Gathering solution requirements though stakeholder engagement and technical documentation analysis
  • Defining solution level functional and transitional requirements
  • Defining quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints and other supporting requirements
  • Designing solutions and creating solution requirements specification and functional design documentation
  • Liaise with development resources to transition solutions to development
  • Liaise with acceptance and release resources on test case development and defect management
  • Working in and fostering a collaborative environment

What you need to be succeed:

  • A clear understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • A high level understanding of software architectural patterns such as provider and consumer
  • Experience working with relational data models and basic data analysis using SQL and Excel
  • Experience gathering functional, non-functional, and transitional requirements
  • Experience working on systems integration and migration related projects
  • Able to translate and communicate complex business logic requirements
  • Experience designing software solution specifications
  • Experience supporting Project Management planning, providing estimates and reporting on progress, issues and risks
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and activities
  • Able to provide supervision, leadership, mentorship and coaching to assigned resources
  • Able to plan and co-ordinate simple to complex projects and activities with team members and any stakeholder both internal to Medavie Blue Cross and external clients
  • Experience with Salesforce

Qualifications

Education: University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or similar program
Work Experience: Typically 7+ years of experience with doing requirements gathering and analysis work. Knowledge of software development life-cycle methodologies; Working knowledge of business domain and/or application
Work Status: You need to have Permanent Residency or Citizenship of Canada
